The Gun Digest Book of Shotgunning is finally available after years in the making. Marty Fischer conceptualized the format of this book about five years ago. He realized that while there were many books on the market about shotguns, wingshooting, clay shooting and shooting technique, none of them combined all of those things into a single clear and concise "how to shoot" title.

Perhaps the biggest difference in this book and others, is that Marty Fischer is a writer who happens to be a professional shotgunner and top level shooting instructor. He has been teaching wing and clay shooting for more than 25 years, and was one of the first National Sporting Clays Association’Äôs Level III Certified Instructors (the highest certification level) in America.

As a shooter, his resume is impressive. He was a AAA class shooter as a National Skeet Shooting Association competitor and a AA class (retired from competition before the Master Class was initiated) competitor in National Sporting Clays Association sanctioned events. But it is his wingshooting background that is most impressive. He has been and avid wingshooter for most of his life and for eight years, he was a host of the highly acclaimed outdoor television series Shotgun Journal that was seen on The Outdoor Channel, Pursuit Channel and The Outdoor Life Network. He traveled the world shooting wild birds on that show, and it is estimated that he has harvested more than 100,000 birds in his wingshooting career.

The Gun Digest Book of Shotgunning is written to provide factually concise information on things like gun fit for the field, shooting techniques and how they apply to different types of birds, how to practice, why you miss and how to fix it, introducing lady and youth shooters to shooting and much, much more. There are hundreds of photos from wingshooting trips around the world as well as photos designed to explain or make an important point about shooting a shotgun successfully.

Frankly, there has never been a book quite like The Gun Digest Book of Shotgunning. It is not only a great teaching tool for wingshooters of all levels, it will also serve as a tremendous reference tool for shooters who are having trouble with a certain type of shot.
